Terms and conditions of purchase

1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions (GTCs) regulate the online sale of single-visit tickets and season tickets for cultural and sports events by the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, as well as contracts for the provision of services necessary for the sale of these tickets and/or season tickets by the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto.
These General Terms and Conditions (GTCs) regulate the online sale of products from the Museum bookshop (books, postcards, posters, engravings, CDs/DVDs and merchandise). The sale is governed by an Online Sale Agreement for the Products selected and ordered by the Customer from those listed on the Website that are currently available. The purchased Products will be shipped to the address chosen by the Customer.
This document also contains the General Terms and Conditions (GTCs) regulating donations received by the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto.

2. Definitions
The following definitions shall apply to these GTCs, it being understood that definitions in the plural shall apply to the relevant term in the singular and vice versa:
Event: the exhibition, event, show or performance to which the Ticket Holder is entitled to gain admission.
Event Venue: the buildings and grounds that constitute the venue for a specific Event.
Ticket: the Entrance Ticket, a document in digital format issued by the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, which entitles the Ticket Holder to access the Event Venue.
Ticket Holder: the person who lawfully holds the Ticket purchased by the Customer.
Organiser: the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, or the party organising the Event, whose details can be found on the purchase confirmation pages, on the purchase receipt and on the purchase invoice (if requested).
Customer: the person who, via the sales portal, purchases the single-visit ticket or season ticket from the Organiser via the Site.
Donor: means the person who, by means of the donation form, makes a donation via the Site.
Site: means the site https://www.shopmuseomarta.it, owned and operated by the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto.

3. Conditions
Please read the following conditions carefully before purchasing single-visit tickets, season tickets and products and before making a donation.

3.1
In the event of the customer cancelling their ticket or making an incorrect purchase, the price of the ticket will not be reimbursed. In addition, no reimbursement is given for tickets that are purchased but not collected.
Once confirmed, reservations cannot be modified.

3.2
Advance purchase of single-visit tickets entitles the holder to enter the Museum on the day and time indicated on the tickets. If the ticket holder does not show up on the date and at the time indicated, the Tickets will NOT be exchanged or reimbursed.

3.3
For logistical reasons and due to the influx of people to the Organiser’s facility, it is not possible to change the date and time of bookings once made. However, subject to existing bookings, the Organiser may decide, at its sole discretion, to grant a request for a change. This request can be made by writing an email to info@shopmuseomarta.it, stating the order number and date/time for which the change is proposed.

3.4
The customer must enter the names of all participants in the visit, including minors, at the time of purchase.
It is possible to change the names entered at the time of booking by writing an email to info@shopmuseomarta.it, stating the order number, date/time and the names for which the change is proposed. However, the Organiser decides whether to accede to a variation request at its sole discretion.

3.5
In the event of pre-sale charges and royalties payable to SIAE (the Italian society of authors and publishers), in connection with special events on specific days, resulting in an increase in the official ticket purchase price charged by the Organiser, such extra charges will be explicitly stated in the purchase summary, the order receipt and the invoice (if requested).

3.6
Payment will result in the electronic issue of a collective ticket including each individual visitor, valid on the date and at the time specified at the moment of purchase.

3.7
Extremely rarely, the time and date of admission may need to be altered depending on the number of requests for that particular day or due to force majeure (e.g. extraordinary maintenance). In the event of the visit no longer being possible at the reserved time, the ticket holder will be notified in a timely manner of the alternative time closest to the time originally requested. If the ticket holder is not satisfied with the proposed change, he/she may request a full refund of the ticket.

3.7a
In the event of a large number of visitors, admission may be delayed by a few minutes with respect to the time indicated on the ticket. Our staff are at your disposal to make your short wait as pleasant as possible.

3.8
Payments can only be made by online methods and require the use of an encrypted connection.

3.9
Before entering the Event Venue, the ticket holder must validate his/her admission ticket. Tickets can be validated at the reception desk at the entrance to the Museum. Validation requires the ticket holder to show the ticket in one of two formats:
– A printed copy of the electronic Ticket.
– The digital version of the Ticket, directly on a smartphone or tablet.
In both cases it must be possible to clearly scan the barcode, a special machine-readable code on the ticket. This code is read and checked using the validation devices operated by the ticket office staff.

3.10
Some tickets may carry special warnings and conditions which will be shown when the booking is confirmed. The Customer will not be permitted to proceed unless he/she explicitly indicates that he/she has read and understood the special warnings and conditions. On completion of the purchase, these will also be included in the e-mail confirming the order and will be displayed in the order details, accessible by the Customer.
