NOTICE TO VISITORS
Visitors are advised that anyone wishing to enter the Museum must reserve and purchase their tickets in advance online from monday to saturday. On Sundays and holidays, it will also be possible to purchase tickets at the Museum’s reception desk, with Bancomat or Credit Card (it cannot be purchased in cash).
In case of ticket purchase for multiple visitors, it is recommended to make a single booking operation for all participants to the visit, to ensure entry into the same time slot.

On the page dedicated to individual reservations you can book the day and time of your visit and pay for the ticket. You will receive a confirmation email which you can bring to the Museum in order to gain access and enjoy your visit.
The email confirming your reservation contains a barcode that will be checked by the Museum’s operators. You can show the barcode directly on your device (mobile or tablet) or print the confirmation email.

To make a reservation for Mondayto Saturday, click here, choose the date of entry and choose the number of tickets to buy and click on Add to cart.
The Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 to 19:30 with last admission at 19:00.

To make a reservation for a Sunday or a public holiday, click here, choose the date of the visit, select the entrance time, choose the number of tickets to purchase and click on ADD TO BASKET.
The Museum is open on Sunday and Holidays from 8:30 to 14:00 with last admission at 13:30.

Visits last 120 minutes, except for Sundays and holidays when the 13:30 entrance lasts only 30 minutes.

The guided tour service is included in the Museum entrance ticket for visits starting on Thursdays at 17:30, Saturdays at 17:30 and Sundays at 10:30.

After adding your ticket to the basket, you will be taken to the payment page, where you insert the details regarding the identity of the person making the booking and all visitors to the Museum (name and surname of all participants, both adults and minors) and the preferred mode of payment.
In order to purchase a ticket, it is necessary to register and log in.

Visitors are advised to reserve tickets to the Museum at least 5 minutes before the start of the visit.

Entry at reduced price 2,00€ for holders of 18app
Thanks to 18app you can use your Culture Bonus to buy the entrance ticket to the Museum at a reduced price of 2.00€ (ticket to buy directly on 18app).
The use of 18app and the Culture Bonus is strictly personal, so you will be asked for the identification document at the entrance of the Museum.

    • All persons under the age of 18, regardless of nationality (Rome, May 28, 2013) (children below the age of 12 must be accompanied);
    • Italian citizens resident abroad (applies to cultural institutes and places belonging to the Italian government*;
    • citizens of non-EU states “on condition of reciprocity” (children below the age of 12 must be accompanied);
    • disabled persons together with one family member or other companion who can prove that they are an official social or health care worker;
    • European Union tourist guides in the exercise of their professional duties, on presentation of a valid licence issued by the competent authority (see Circular 20/2016 – DG-Musei);
    • European Union tourism interpreters when their services are required in collaboration with a guide, on presentation of a valid licence issued by the competent authority;
    • the personnel of the Italian Ministry of Culture;
    • members of I.C.O.M. (International Council of Museums);
    • groups of students from public and private schools in the European Union, accompanied by their teachers, with advance notice and limited to the contingent established by the head of the school;
    • students enrolled on specialist training courses in schools run by the Ministry (Istituto Centrale per il Restauro, Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Scuola per il Restauro del Mosaico);
    • teachers and students employed/enrolled in academies of fine art or equivalent institutes in EU member states, on presentation of proof of employment/enrolment in the current academic year;
    • teachers and students employed/enrolled in courses for bachelor’s and master’s degrees, specialisation and postgraduate courses and doctorates in the following faculties: architecture, archaeology, cultural heritage conservation, art history and education, as well as letters and philosophy with an emphasis on archaeology and art history. The same reductions are applied to teachers and students employed/enrolled in equivalent faculties and courses in EU member states. Admittance free of charge is reserved for students who can present proof of enrolment for the current academic year and teachers on presentation of suitable documentation;
    • teachers of art history at secondary schools, on presentation of suitable documentation;
    • journalists who have paid their dues to the relevant professional association, on presentation of suitable documentation proving their professional activities (see Italian decree “DG-Musei” – DDG 1109 of 7/09/2019);
    • persons conducting studies or research in association with Italian or foreign schools, universities, academies, research centres and cultural institutes, as well as ministerial bodies. For specific needs, entrance free of charge can be granted for specific periods to persons making a written request;
    • teaching staff on open-ended and fixed-term contracts in Italian schools. Such persons may enter museums, archaeological parks and areas and monumental complexes belonging to the Italian government. The MiC participates in the initiative regarding spaces hosting temporary exhibitions and displays that are separate from the normal visiting route. Persons with this entitlement can therefore access such spaces on payment of a fee, using coupons generated by means of an app (cartadeldocente.istruzione.it), active since November 30, 2016 (see Circular 77/2016 – DG-Musei);

* In order to obtain the above-mentioned discount, on arrival at the ticket office the visitor must present documentary proof that they are listed on the register of Italians resident abroad, for example their ‘AIRE’ certificate of registration, the identity card issued to AIRE members, or their passport confirming residence abroad.
In lieu of such certification, a self-declaration can be presented – see the attached model).

  • Since February 28, 2019, for every day in which persons aged 18 to 25 do not enjoy admittance free of charge, the ticket costs 2.00 euros. The same reduction is applied to citizens of non-EU states “on condition of reciprocity”.
  • Admittance free of charge is granted to all visitors on the occasion of special events, on both local and national level, announced on the website of the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC).

In the event of the customer changing their mind or making a mistaken purchase, the price of the ticket will not be reimbursed. In addition, no reimbursement is given for tickets that are purchased but not collected. Once confirmed, reservations cannot be modified.
